About This Project

PULP is a sustainable, modular lighting system that celebrates adaptability for different contexts of use. The system consists of a central light module with a recycled aluminum housing and easy-to-install recycled cardboard shells that direct and shield the light. The design is inspired by industrially pressed cardboard packaging and combines the organic quality of the material with simplicity.

PULP can be individually configured as a pendant light, wall light or table lamp. All components are interchangeable. The simple design enables independent repair or adaptation. The luminaire can be integrated into the room individually or as an ensemble – depending on the user’s individual preference.

The project is based on the concept of social design by Victor Papanek and the 10 Circular Design Guidelines by Stefan Diez. Material test have been an important part of the design process.
