About This Project
Greta Magnusson Grossman has been a hidden figure of the design history for many years. But this fact does not miner her meaningfulnes esspecially as female industrial designer. Following her stepps you get insights into the early modernism of Stokholm in the 1930 and the warm and soft modern movment developed under the sun of California in 1940 and 1950. Her lights are iconic, her design language is humorous and silent at the same time and her disappearance still raises question. She used new materials, introduced a playful nature to her pieces, and responded to the changing lifestyle of the modern Californian household. The brochure and the poster deal with Greta Magnussen Grossman’s work in terms of both content and design. In addition, her magnificent design served as inspiration for the design of a stool.
